Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Come wo Jenryoku de Jyama Shiteiru ~ Review
“A hilariously cute love comedy that will make you feel fluffy and happy all over!”
Now, if you haven’t yet watched, or even heard about this particular series, then I know what you’re all thinking at this point… “Holy crap, that is a long-ass title for an anime”. And yes, it is. There’s no denying that the title is long as hell. But that doesn’t change the solid fact that this anime is awesomely funny and awesomely awesome in so many ways!
Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Come wo Zenryoku de Jyama Shiteiru (translated as “My Mental Decisions Are Completely Interferring With My School Romantic Comedy”) or simply Noucome revolves around Amakusa Kanade; a regular high school kid who one day wakes up with a terrible curse called The Absolute Choice which forces him to make a choice on a particular situation. And most of these choices lead him to do strange, misleading actions. However, one day on the way back from school he chooses to summon a girl from the sky, and from the sky appears Chocolat; a servent of God who has come to save him from the curse. He is assigned missions, in which he must achieve or else he will be stuck with the curse forever. However, the Absolute Choice (and his fellow friends) aren’t helping him a whole lot…
The anime is known for its comedy, animation style and unique and loveable characters
The anime contains 10 episodes and aired during the Fall 2013 Anime Season (October 2013 – December 2013, ending today at the time of writing). The anime is based off an ongoing light novel series written by Kasukabe Kakeru and illustrated by Yukiwo. The series is animated by Diomedea Studios, who are known for animating such well-acclaimed series as Campione!, Gingitsune and Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?.
The anime contains many characters who have unique voices and characteristics, and surprisingly, there are many characters who are voices by new, fresh voice actors and actresses. This just shows how much potential these voice actors and actresses have (especially the main female characters; if you’ve seen the series, you know how much of an awesome contribution they make to the whole series).
Overall, I LOVED this anime. I know; it may be your average romantic comedy/ecchi series with a harem-like setting. But what made this anime awesome is the amazing work done by the voice actors and actresses, and the great intermixture of the many characters with the plot. But another aspect that made this series stand out for me was the comedy elements. There aren’t many romantic comedy/ecchi series that rely heavily on the comedy aspects, and ths was definitely a nice change to the genre. I am (and many others alike are) still quite pissed off that this series only ended up with 10 episodes; I would’ve understood 12 episodes, but I wish Japan would stop with this 10 episodes crap (and Diomedea, with Mondaiji). But in the end, this anime was funny, cute and awesome, and is a definite must for anime fans.
The Final Judgement:
Recommendation Level: 4/5 – Highly Recommended
Final Score: 8.5/10
