“Top 100 Greatest Anime Openings Of All Time” Poll, Begins Now!

I have been away for about a week since my last review, and have thus decided to open this official poll!

I present to you…

The “Top 100 Greatest Anime Openings Of All Time” Poll!!

Now I require absolute cooperation with this as this is a poll decided by the viewers (as well as myself).
This will work like this: if you like any anime songs – whether yo find the song catchy, you like the visuals or any of the above –  from any series, then it counts as 1 point. This is the base of how this poll will work.
It doesn’t have to be your absolute favourite; any anime opening that you think deserves a vote is counted in the poll.
At the end, the points will be calculated and presented on this site! Simple as that!

How to vote:

– Via deviantArt.com forum: look under “Top 100 Greatest Anime Openings Of All Time”” in the forums
– Via email: jb_zinger@hotmail.com
– Via my Youtube account: My username is DaPinkFloydian
– By leaving a comment under this post (and only this post; other comments will be ignored)

I have not decided when this poll will end, but hopefully I will be able to pick up enough votes!
Until then, I will go back to writing my anime reviews again!

Binbougami Ga! ~ Review

Binbougami Ga! ~ Review

“A hilarious tale that shows us the difference between real happiness and what you think is happiness”

This is another one of those anime series that looked good since it’s pictures and information were first released onto the Internet, and when I started watching the first episode, I knew straight away that this was a good choice.

Binbougami Ga! revolves around a schoolgirl called Ichiko Sakura (pictured above left) who lives in a very lucky environment; she is smart, cute and rich. Then one day, a strange girl with a bandage on her arm comes to Ichiko; her name is Momiji and she is a binbougami, or “the God of misfortune”. She tells Sakura that she has an extraordinary amount of Fortune energy that she has unconsciously been sucking up from other people, making her lucky and everybody else around her unfortunate. Momiji plans to steal some of this Fortune energy and share it with other people in order to rebalance the world. However, Ichiko is not planning to make Momiji’s job so easy.

The series is most notable for its use of parody on other manga; a perfect example is in this scene, the artwork being a clear reference to the series “Fist of The North Star”

Like the image above, the series uses many references and parodies many different anime series; some of which are very obvious, while some are very discrete. Thus, this series is perfect for those that get many of these references, and it will definitely make the series a hell of a lot more funnier than it already is. The most notable voice actor/actress in this series has got to be Kana Hanazawa who plays the role of Ichiko (most notable characters include Mato from Black★Rock Shooter, Mikan from To LOVE-ru and Kanade from Angel Beats!) who does an excellent job along with the other voice actors to create one hell of a funny show.

Binbougami Ga! is a hilarious show that contains many serious scenes and also teaches us the importance of what we perceive as happiness. However, this show will never cease to make you laugh as you progress in through the story. Like I said before, the more anime that you have seen prior to this series, the funnier the jokes and this entire series gets.

The Final Judgement:

Recommendation Level: 4/5 – Strongly Recommended

Final Score: 7.5/10

Black☆Rock Shooter ~ Review

Black Rock Shooter ~ Review

“An epic tale that make you feel more human that you think you will ever be”

I have a feeling I have been saying this a lot in my recent reviews, but I absolutely love this series. Like the title puts it, Black Rock Shooter has a very strange tale of making the viewer feel very human. But I guess if you knew what the series is about, then you would nod in agreement. If you have ever seen this however, you would shake my hand vigorously in agreement.

The story takes place between two different universes; the first universe is much like ours and consists of a group of schoolgirls living their lives normally. In this universe is a girl called Mato Kuroi, who becomes friends with a girl called Yomi Takanashi. As the two get closer together, at the same time they grow further apart; carrying struggles and becoming jealous of Mato long-term friend, Yu. The second consists of a strange girl called Black Rock Shooter, a black haired girl who continues to fight anything that stands in her way. In this world, Black Rock Shooter meets many girls like her; no emotion, and their only instinct is to fight. One day, Yomi disappears and Mato is sent into a strange world, where she meets Black Rock Shooter. Now Mato must fight Black Rock Shooter  save her friend and to save herself from “the pain” that her and Black Rock Shooter have experienced.

The anime series is known for its intense action scenes and the extreme high quality of artwork and camera work

The Black Rock Shooter franchise began with a variety of illustrations by Ryohei “Huke” Fuke, which gained the attention of Supercell, a Japanese music group, that created a song influence to these illustrations, which gained high popularity throughout the Internet. A 50-minute OVA (original video animation) was created, which ultimately sparked the anime series franchise. The anime series became very successful, the series being later adapted into manga series and a game. The anime series was also awarded for technical achievement in broadcast animation at the 65th Motion Picture and Television Engineering Society of Japan Awards in 2012.

Black Rock Shooter deal with such themes as pain, loneliness, human frailty, human weakness and the importance of maintaining strong bonds between friends and people. This is one of those anime’s that definitely makes you feel warm inside and will really make you reconsider the relationships that you hold between your friends and loved ones. As the anime series is both entertaining, exciting and gives us all a life moral to live by, I rank this very high on my list and I definitely recommend this series if you ave not already watched it.

The Final Judgement:

Recommendation Level: 5/5 – Strongly Recommended

Final Score: 8.5/10
